The Hard Rock Cafe Inc. is a popular chain of rock and roll themed restaurants, best known for having real-life memorabilia adorning its walls. More recently the Hard Rock name has become known for it’s growing chain of hotels, having more than 40 hotels currently in operation worldwide.

Hard Rock got in contact with us earlier this year as they were looking to create funky giveaway packs for a press event to launch their new hotel and café opening in London in 2019. The merchandise was to be high-end, in keeping with the brand and relevant to its London location. In order to ensure people didn’t forget exactly where to go to try out the brand spanking new London Hard Rock, the details were printed on all the promotional items as well as the logo.

London is well known for its historical tube system and so an oyster card wallet was high on the list of useful and location specific merchandise for the event. Next on the list were branded selfie lights, a modern choice which encouraged people to take pictures (of the selfie kind) at the event which would likely be shared on social media, helping to advertise the new Hard Rock digs.

Next was our Stainless Steel bottle, which we recommended as one of best-selling products of the year. The Stainless Steel range has proven particularly popular with those looking to pass on single use plastic. It has a high-end appeal and keeps liquids cold for up to 12 hours, making it a highly useful item! Keeping with the eco-trend, the giveaways were put in printed black cotton bags which are reusable and made from environmentally friendly materials.

A Bluetooth Speaker was also printed with the logo and new restaurant details, a perfect choice of merchandise given that Hard Rock Cafe is a music themed chain and finally, a USB stick attached to a lanyard, again both printed with the famous Hard Rock logo and details of the new London hotel and café. The impressive pack went down a storm at the press event and people were thrilled with their premium corporate goodies.

We believe when creating a customised pack for a corporate event or press launch, it’s extremely important that many things are considered, not only the brand itself. In this case the recipients, the location and the overall desired effect. Hard Rock wanted items that would gain interest at their event, get people talking on social media and prove useful so that the lucky gift-getters kept the items. Items kept and used will constantly remind the receiver of the new restaurant as well as offer Hard Rock free brand exposure when they use their items, particularly the oyster card holders and tote bags, in public places.
