No Disposable Cup Day is an annual event that takes place on the 4th October. The event is centred around drawing attention to the environmental issues disposable cups bring, with focus on moving to more eco-conscious alternatives.
The first step of International No Disposable Cup Day is to put down all disposable cups and choose reusable drinkware instead. Globally, 16 billion disposable cups are used for coffee alone, with 2.5 billion of these cups being used in the UK. Studies have shown less than 1% of these cups are recycled, causing a large environmental issue. By using reusable alternatives, you can help to reduce the amount of plastic and other waste in landfill, which can benefit the environment.
