Bringing Bombay Sapphire Blue to Branded Merchandise
When a brand is as visually distinctive as Bombay Sapphire, colour consistency matters.
For a recent project with Bacardi, Brandelity by Geiger supplied two Pantone-matched products for their brand Bombay Sapphire: a stainless steel water bottle and a colour-matched notebook, both created to reflect the brand’s instantly recognisable blue.
The finished products are now being used across corporate gifting, internal gifting and retail, with items also being sold through the Bombay Sapphire online store.
Pantone Colour Matching Merchandise
Rather than choosing products from a standard colour range, Pantone matching allows merchandise to be produced much more closely to a brand’s own colour palette.
For Bombay Sapphire, that meant creating a coordinated bottle and notebook in a blue that feels immediately connected to the wider brand identity.
The result is a pair of products that feel less like traditional promotional merchandise and more like an extension of the brand itself.
The Pantone-Matched Sorrento Bottle
The Sorrento is a 500ml double-walled stainless-steel bottle with a matt finish and a colour-matched screw lid.
Both the bottle body and lid can be Pantone matched, helping create a much more consistent finish than selecting from predetermined stock colours. Branding can then be added through print or engraving.
For Bombay Sapphire, the blue finish creates an immediate connection with the brand while giving the product a premium, understated appearance suitable for gifting and retail.
A Coordinated Pantone-Matched Primo Notebook
To complement the bottle, the Primo notebook was also produced in a Pantone-matched blue.
The A5 notebook includes an elasticated closure, pen loop and ribbon page marker, with 96 sheets of lined paper. The cover can be colour matched to a brand Pantone and digitally printed across the front, spine or back.
Using the same colour-led approach across different product categories helps create a much more considered merchandise collection, rather than a group of products that simply carry the same logo.
From Corporate Gifting to Retail
One of the strongest aspects of this project is the versatility of the finished merchandise.
Bombay Sapphire is using the products for both corporate and internal gifting, while merchandise is also being offered through its online store alongside its wider gifting and accessory range. Bombay Sapphire’s store includes dedicated gifting, accessories and personalised product categories, making branded lifestyle merchandise a natural fit within the wider customer experience.
It demonstrates how well-designed branded merchandise can work across multiple touchpoints, from employee and client gifting through to consumer-facing retail.
Why Pantone Matching Makes a Difference
Colour is often one of the most recognisable parts of a brand identity, but standard merchandise colour options can make it difficult to achieve a close match.
Pantone-matched merchandise gives brands much greater control over how products sit alongside their wider visual identity.
It can be particularly useful when:
- colour is a significant part of brand recognition
- several products need to form one coordinated collection
- merchandise is intended for premium gifting or retail
- the product needs to feel bespoke rather than off-the-shelf
For brands with distinctive colour palettes, details like these can make a significant difference to the finished result.
Create Merchandise in Your Brand Colours
From drinkware and notebooks to a wider range of custom products, Pantone matching can help turn everyday merchandise into something that feels unmistakably yours.
